Heat or AC Just Stopped? Try This First

A few quick checks can save a service call. Make sure the thermostat is set to Heat or Cool and has fresh batteries, the filter isn’t clogged, and the furnace switch and breaker are on.

In winter, clear any snow or ice from the furnace’s intake and exhaust pipes outside. If the system still won’t run, call (613) 866-1869 and we’ll take it from there.

Mansoor was very responsive from the very beginning, from first contact to the completion of work. Friendly and polite from start to finish. It was very easy to book a visit/inspection and kept me posted when he was on his way and estimated time of arrival. The quote was competitive and very detailed and he answered all my questions and requests for clarification promptly and professionally. He kept me updated on the arrival of the furnace and when the installation would be. Replacement of our old furnace with a new Lennox 97% AFUE was done efficiently and my home was left as it was, housekeeping after the installation was done well, as clean as when they arrived. The technicians arrived on time, explained the process, and completed the installation quickly. They were very respectful of our home and left everything completely clean.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our home AC unit stopped working on a hot day during a long weekend. Called Oria and spoke to Mansoor. He was at my house in 30 minutes. Tried several different approaches to fixing the problem and provided his opinions on the best way forward without trying to sway me in either direction. I ultimately decided my best option was to not put good money over bad and just replace the 13 year old unit with a new one. Mansoor set an install date for a few days later as the replacement unit needed to be ordered. The install went very smoothly and I was very impressed with how neat the install was both inside and outside the house. The techs were a pleasure to work with also; very professional and courteous. I had one snag that wasn't Oria's fault, but the manufacturer's, and I was very impressed with how Oria handled it. When the new unit was started up, it worked fine, but the fan vibrated more than it should; something was not right. The techs advised Mansoor and he came personally to inspect. He then got on the phone to the manufacturer, who advised that they had received several issues with this model recently, and that the fan would need to be replaced. Mansoor obtained the replacement fan a few days later and promptly did the swap. He did not leave the issue to me to sort out under warranty. Instead he took the bull by the horns and wanted to make it right for me. I greatly appreciated that. Needless to say, I would recommend Oria anytime.

EDIT: Well, Oria came to my rescue once again. The blower motor on my furnace crapped out Thursday evening, so no AC (again just before a long weekend). Spoke with Mansoor Friday morning, and to make a long story short, I had a new furnace installed before lunch on Saturday (furnace was 19 yrs old, so figured go new). Perfect job and a great price. I don't know how you can beat that. Don't waste your time trying. Just call them.

He came and diagnosed the same issue, but went through numerous other attempts to fix it before determining that the compressor was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. He even tried to install some jump starter piece which broke, and just ate the cost without charging extra. What we really appreciate is that given how expensive AC replacement is, and despite the fact that this sort of job would make him the most money immediately, he still went through many different steps to try to avoid replacement. This is someone who really does care about his customers and making a lasting business. We will be using his company again if we ever have other issues
